Where's Guffey?  Guffey, Colorado is a truly small mountain community at about 8.600 feet in the Southern Rockies.  We have some paved roads, a post office, real estate offices, antique stores, a garage, a terrific charter school and a fine saloon.  I especially like the saloon.  It is also the community where I have resided for most of the past thirty years since before we had anything but the post office. I received fine arts degrees in sculpture and ceramics from the University of Denver in 1972 and then built my first house in Guffey.

In January, 2001 my partner and I opened a restaurant in Guffey called "Peaceful Henry's" featuring fine food and great music which presently occupies a significant amount of my time. I play the saxophone and music is a big part of my life. I also drive a 1956 Austin Healy 100-4 in an entertaining if not particularly successful fashion in vintage racing in the area.

My sculpture and photography have been exhibited at the Colorado Museum of Art (many years ago) and my photographs currently crowd the walls of the restaurant together with the work of other local artists. My photography has recently moved to the digital realm and focuses (pun intended) on landscapes and cityscapes as well as still life renderings, portraits  and, of course, all types of motor vehicles presented in a manner which seeks to emphasize those aspects of the original views which first captured my eye.
